TRUM-PETING SOURCE and METHODS! Can You Say HYPOCRITES? (Ralphy V.)
Trump Okayed the release of the Nunes memo back on 2018. After promising that the Democratic memo would be released “soon,” then, rescinded his decision to release the Democratic memo, on concerns raised by the FBI and Justice Department sending it it back to the Intelligence Committee for revisions.
According to Trump, The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, Tweeted Donald Trump on 8:20 AM – Feb 10, 2018. Source and Methods?
Let’s recap for a moment; The president’s vetoing of the Democratic memo was a total about face to his giddy enthusiastic embrace on releasing the Republican Memo, which accuses of all things, his own FBI and Justice Department of abusing their surveillance powers in obtaining a secret warrant to monitor former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page, completely unrelated, totally debunked, and still part of a Classified on-going Investigation.
FBI was provided a limited opportunity to review this memo the day before the committee voted to released it.
Trumps own FBI and Justice Department urged the President not to release the Nunes memo, citing “Grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy. Trump released the memo anyway.
Trump was overheard telling Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-South Carolina, at the State of the Union that the Nunes memo would be released, never mind that the White House counsel and the national security team were still reviewing it.
Trump has made up his mind to release the Nunes memo regardless of what the FBI and Justice Department, or cousin’s Cockatiel; “Hypocrites – Hypocrites”, for that matter might of had been yelling. Trump believed it was good for him politically and he was Not to be Denied.
Now he’s hiding behind the same FBI and Justice Department he ignored a week ago in order to slow, or stop the release of a memo that rebuts his story.
Politicizing and Weaponizing intelligence information is unprecedented regardless of who is Doing, the Doing. Trump, Nunes and all those Republicans aiding and abating these efforts do not seem to care about Source and Methods, let along Protecting National Security.
The very fact that Nunes’ memo was written and released tells a lot as to how far they are willing to go, ignoring National Security and the Rule of Law. But to keep a competing memo meant to shed light on the Truth, from being released, citing the very people whose recommendation you ignored a week before is, to put it mildly, shear Hypocrisy and – Treasonous!
